In realism, the situation cannot be changed and there is no hope for a better future for those in need of change. This helps deal with things in their current form but is blind to inevitable change from the unexpected. The realist may consider those romantics but often looking at them as hopeless and foolish. Pure realism is just that though when all things are truly taken into account. The demise of purely fascist states with no regard for the arts or liberty is proof of this. On the other hand, pure Romanticism, while largely based in thought and well meaning can be hard to apply to the current state without resulting in unrest by all parties involved. There is a lack of production and an unrealistic reliance on others when this idea exists on it's own. People are not strong and well versed in every part of life to be completely individualistic. True justice and liberty can not be achieved with out some intervention by a rational and realist state. The two ideas on their own can not have a stable foundation for a lasting society. - Paul Dustin Nash
